- For optimal control of flea infestation the veterinary medicinal product can be administered at 4 to 6 week intervals throughout the flea season.
- It is available in two sizes to accurately dose cats and kittens of different body weights - one presentation for cats 4 kg and under and another for cats that weigh more than 4 kg.
Effective Flea Control
- ProMeris is the only product available from a veterinarian that contains the active flea control ingredient, metaflumizone.
- This new compound features an exclusive mode of action that attacks fleas' nervous system by blocking neuronal sodium channels, which results in paralysis and death of the flea.
- Metaflumizone is rapidly distributed throughout the surface of the skin. Maximum concentrations in the hair were generally reached between 1 to 2 days post-treatment and gradually declined through 56 days post-treatment.
- Metaflumizone has never before been used to control fleas and research shows they are readily susceptible.
- Metaflumizone is proven to control 2 flea species (Ctenocephalides canis and C. felis) and protect against re-infestation for up to six weeks in cats.

- Packaging
- The packaging of this product has been designed to comply with stricter EU controls on product safety, so the packs are child resistant but senior friendly.
- Solution
- You may notice that there is more solution in a treatment than other products. This is to ensure the effective spread of the active across the body, giving protection against fleas from head to toe. Wait until the solution is dry before allowing the cat onto furniture.
- Scent
- This innovative product is the first flea product to be pleasantly scented with a coconut smell to alert pet owners and particularly children that a pet has been treated. The scent will disappear up 24 hours after application.
- Appearance
- After application a wet patch may appear, this is normal and will usually disappear within 24 hours. This can be minimized by correct application of the product onto the skin.

Actions to ensure the correct application of the product at the correct site will be effective in ensuring the efficacy and preventing any problems, therefore, we kindly ask you to speak to your practice staff about the characteristics of this novel product and closely follow the application recommendations reflected in this document.

- Separate fur with fingers
- Carefully apply the solution to the skin and not to the fur of the cat
- Apply the product high on the neck at the base of the skull, this way there is no risk of cats being able to groom/lick the application site
- Treat the cat with the product in the evening, this allows the product to be fully distributed during their sleep.
- Do not allow treated cats to sleep with owners, especially children, for 24 hours after treatment

After it has been applied, your cat will be protected from fleas for up to six weeks. In order to give your cat the best possible protection from fleas, it is best to repeat this treatment every four to six weeks all year round.

- ProMeris Duo for cats is exclusively available from practicing veterinarians involved in a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. Fort Dodge will not sell ProMeris Duo through over-the-counter (OTC) channels.
- Fort Dodge supports a "veterinarian-only" sales policy for ProMeris as these experts should be pet owners' primary source of information about fleas and ticks and to help ensure the health and well being of their companion animals.
